Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Polish Review

I had to go through a lot for the Sally Hansen Gem Crush polishes...
Okay, this is a long story but keep reading, I promise there is a reason...or if not just scroll all the way to the bottom for the actual review...

So one day I decided to go to CVS for the first time. As I usually do in other pharmacies or other places, I went to the nail polish section. Since I hadn't been out to look around for a loooong time (probably since last summer lol), it was the first time I noticed the Sally Hansen Gem Crush polishes. I thought they were really pretty but I went ahead and bought one of them, which was Be-Jeweled, and an Essie one (which is not important right now lol). So anyway, I took a picture of all the colors in case I liked Be-Jeweled and wanted more.

As you can see, I bought it for $7.49. So after buying it, I went home and tried it and I REALLY liked it! It was really pretty and I loved everything about it. The tiny purple glitter, the pink bigger glitter, and the texture! I SOOOOO went back and bought 3 more.

I put them all in a line to take a picture...HMM?
 "Why is the cap different?"
I guessed that they were different because one design was produced first but then the manufacturers changed their mind and designed them another way. Makes sense, right? At this point I hadn't even opened those other 3 (Glitz Gal, Lady Luck, Bling-Tastic).
So the next day I was happily reading reviews about these polishes when happened to go into Walgreen's website...and I saw that they were having a promotion for these specific polishes...2 for $10...Yes, I had bought four polishes for $7.49 each when I could've paid $5 each...
I was super frustrated and went straight to Walgreens to buy the same ones again.

And so, I had 8 now...and I noticed that I had bought 4 curved cap bottles and 4 round bottles without even noticing... I kept looking at the formula inside the bottle to see if the caps were different because the formula was different but they looked the same....so it finally occured to me to open the bottles.
Thus, I was dumbfounded.

"DAFUQ?! The brushes are different! Am I ignorant? Maybe this is something that everybody knew but ME! Maybe I was am the only dumb one!"
^That was my reaction.

But seriously, am I the only one who didn't know this?...Anyway so I tried both brushes to see which one was better. The round cap pictured first had a wide flat brush. This applied very...roundly...lol...I mean to say that the application was easier near the end (the one close to the cuticles) but since my hand is very small, the brush was too wide for me so I was basically done with one stroke. I disliked this since I like actually applying nail polish with several strokes. The curved cap was just a regular thin brush, which I liked more. Besides, I think the glitter was more evenly distributed with the regular brush.
several strokes of curved cap above; about two stokes of round cap below
I felt bad while swatching these but hey, its not like I actually applied it to my nail like some people do before even buying them. Okay now I'm just making excuses. ^^;;

So like 2 days after I took those pictures, I took the round cap polishes and went back to CVS to return them but I only had the receipt for the last three I had bought. I had misplaced/lost my first receipt :'(. So I ended up with an extra $7.49 Be-Jeweled. Then my mom thought of using the Walgreens receipt to exchange the color in Walgreens! Brilliant! I was secretly happy I got to have a fifth color because I had read good reviews about Big Money and I really wanted it~

So that's the long story of my Sally Hansen Gem Crush nail polishes haha.

Now time to actually apply them to my nails:

All of them look the same as they look like in the bottles~ Okay except Bling-tastic...that one is REALLY odd...it has a different formula, which is REALLY puzzling... the smaller glitters are bigger than the other polishes' and the big glitter is humongous compared to the other polishes' bigger glitters... the application sucks for the blue too...I had to apply 4 coats for it to look decent. The other ones look great after 3 coats.

Overall, I like all of them even if Bling-tastic is very different.
My favorite in order would be: Be-Jeweled, Big Money, Lady Luck, Glitz Gal, Bling-tastic.

Top coat is a must for these since the glitters are rough but after the top coat, they have a nice soft texture.
